Passing of our dear friend, sister, and chapter member Soror Shené Edwards

The Epsilon Lambda Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. regretfully shares the passing of our dear friend, sister, and chapter member Soror Shené “Spectrum” Edwards.

Soror Edwards became a member of Sigma via the Nu Gamma Chapter at the University of Cincinnati on March 20, 2003. As an undergraduate she held several leadership positions that included Chapter Basileus (President) and Membership Chair.

​

Soror Edwards was a leader dedicated to community service and a member of Nu Gamma Chapter's notorious Step/Stroll Team. In addition, she was a scholar who graduated in 2006 as a member and scholarship recipient of the Carl H. Lindner Honors-PLUS Program.

​

Upon graduation she joined Nu Gamma’s advising chapter which was Epsilon Lambda Sigma (ELS) Chapter where she served on several committees. A job opportunity allowed Soror Edwards to relocate to her hometown of Columbus, Ohio. Once she resettled, she transferred her membership to the Delta Omicron Sigma Chapter (Columbus Alumnae) of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. where she worked hard for the organization she loved!

Soror Edwards returned to Cincinnati in 2015 and immediately jumped into helping her community through the Sigma Sisterhood. Prior to her passing she served as the chapter’s Financial Secretary. She also supported the chapter as an undergraduate advisor and worked on various programmatic initiatives. Our Sisterhood will miss Soror Edwards sweet spirit and presence. She left a mark on so many, whether they shared a love of dog ownership, traveling, and creativity.

The Epsilon Lambda Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., extends its condolences and prayers to her family. Her homegoing services are arranged for Tuesday, February 1, 2022.

Until we meet again, we say farewell and thank you for your sisterhood, loyalty, and friendship to so many of us!
